one week. . .

“Home is a name, a word, it is a strong one; stronger than magician ever spoke, or spirit ever answered to, in the strongest conjuration.”

– Charles Dickens

I suspect that this is the longest week I’ve ever been made to endure, locked up here in this hospital tower all alone but for little Ro. I feel a bit like Rapunzel must have. . .visitors come and go, but nobody to rescue us and bring us home.

I thank God that my little girl is healthy, and this stay was only a precaution. I can’t imagine what all the thousands who are forced to leave behind sick little ones, or those born before their time must feel. . .

A million thank-you’s to all of the visitors who made it up to keep us company and make the time go just a little bit faster, and to all of those who have sent their support with prayers, messages, and phone calls.

Today is finally the day of homecoming! Today, in less than an hour, RoBaby will get to go home!

She doesn’t know what the big deal is. But that’s because she’s never been outside in her tiny little life. She’s never met a dog or a cat, or slept in a cradle that rocks. . .

I just know she’s gonna love it!

Happy one-week birthday, little lady,

welcome to our world!
