“The trouble with her is that she lacks the power of conversation but not the power of speech.”
-George Bernard Shaw
…yet another post on the randomness of speech that is my darling daughter…

Me: You have to be just a little bit bigger to do that – maybe when you turn 3…
T: I am FORTY-TWO!
(T can only count up to 13, so I’m not sure where she got this number)
ME: Teaball, you’re a very smart girl, you know that?
T: Yeah, I know. I’m K-MART SMART!
“Chemicals are KINDA like spiders. . .”
(when I asked her to elaborate on this one, I was refused. My theory is that she had no idea what a chemical was.)
T: (looks at chest and sighs wistfully) I really wish I had some breasts…
ME: WHAT?!!
T:(yells) I just really wish I had some BREASTS!
ME: Really? Why?!
T: So I could fill them with milk and feed some babies…
*This conversation occurred BEFORE the birth of T’s new sister*
(I thought I had at LEAST another 10 years before we had to have this conversation)
Puff hops on the scale at my doctor’s office and declares loudly:
“I weigh63pounds!”
(she does NOT! And she STILL can only count to 13…)
“STOP TELLING ME TO FINISH MY LUNCH! YOU’RE MAKING ME A HEADACHE!!!”

All is well on this end – we are home and happy and trying to figure out some sort of routine. Ro is doing great, and is already growing like a weed! We’ve begun working on the ‘Mommy is NOT your bed” concept, but so far Ro is winning this battle. She’s becoming steadily more alert, and I adore watching her discover her world as she works to focus those tiny blues on one fragment of a thing at a time. Unfortunately for me, so far Ro has proven adamant in her hatred of all things photographic. This little one is going to be a challenge to get decent pictures of, I haven’t gotten ANY of the shots I’ve wanted to date! T is an awesome big sister, and adores her new baby. “Awwww! She’s SOOOO cute!” is about the only thing I’ve heard out of her mouth since we got home from the hospital! No sign of jealousy so far, and I’m thanking God for that, as well as for the fabulous weather we’ve been getting. Most of our days have been spent out in the backyard – making it very easy to keep the big un’ entertained while the little un’ snoozes in my arms.ย Thank you for all of your comments, E-mails, phone calls, and cards. We are feeling so very loved over here! Robaby is very lucky to have been born into a world with the love and prayers of so many wonderful people following her…
that you are sitting outside allowing your daughters to be in their elements,
says so much about you as a mother. more than organizing .
more than getting it done. You are doing life.
What a darling picture of Teagan, I love it! Just look at that bright-eyed and pig-tailed expressive countenance.
Okay, Tball is cracking me up big time. I can’t believe the things she says to you!!! The breasts and chemicals are my faves. She shocked even me.
