wha…?

February 15, 2011 at 12:33 pm (darndest, random Puffs, whimsically silly)

“Punk rock girl, please look at me
Punk rock girl, what do you see?
Let’s travel round the world…
Just you and me punk rock girl!”

– The Dead Milkmen

A special thanks to Gammy for the purple glam hair!

*T spins around in circles*
WOAH! The whole HOUSE is dizzy now. . .
(and we thought it was just her)

Nonna is a really nice girl. She’s very polite – and helpful!
(She is! That Nonna. . .what a sweetie-pie!)

Mommy. . . I’m all filled up now. I’m UN-hungry!
(T’s clever invention of new words)

I . . . incilly dincilly. . . didn’t notice that there was any water in there, and it. . . incilly dincilly spilled on the floor.
(T is confused between the words: incidentally and accidentally, and so has chosen to combine the two.)

Mom. . .I’m not really a super hero. I just wear a cape from my dress up bin sometimes.
(T forlornly explains after being called Super Puff for the millionth time)

T: Siraween. Siraween. Siraweeeeeeeen!
Me: What are you saying?
T: I’m saying siraween.
Me: Siren?
T: NO! SEE-RA-WEEN
Me: Oh. Siraween. Of course. . .
T: SIRAWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!
Me: But what does it mean? I’ve never heard that word before.
T: A siraween is like. . . a special kind of windchime, and when it rings it makes the wind blow. A BIG kind of wind. Like the kind that blows ALL the leaves around in circles and makes it so you can’t breathe. . .

CAUTION: This last one might offend those with delicate sensibilities, so proceed at your own risk.

“I’m a COCK, mommy! I’m a COCK! Will you look at my COCK, mommy? Do you see my COCK!!?”

(T has put a colorful pieces of tissue paper in the back of her waistband. She imagines them to be her tail-feathers, and is running wildly about the house, jumping madly about, flapping her arms, and pretending to be a PEAcock. I, trying not to laugh so hard that tears are streaming down my cheeks, am trying to explain to her that there is, in fact, a PEA before the COCK!)

And just to get any horrible images out of your mind, allow me to present you with a picture of T. . . being a PEACOCK!

That last one is the best! Anyone who takes offense must be reading for the first time. I don’t think Tori has said anything quite like that, but she has some funny sayings.

I love it! They definitely keep our lives interesting with their made up words and funny sayings. You’ve gotta love a kid for that! I tell Nola, “You know, you make me laugh every day!”

I’m going to start using “incilly dincilly” – I like it. And I really wonder where she got siraween from. I’ve gone over it in my head, but I just don’t know… The stuff of imagination, I guess.

Haha! I gave you what I got, dude! Your guess is as good as mine from the description she gave. . . hope this helps!

      Siraween: N
A unique and possibly magical wind-chime that, rather than chiming because it has been blown by a gust of wind, actually CAUSES wind to blow. It is unclear if the chimes actually create the wind or merely summon the wind to itself. What we do know, however, is that siraween winds are gale-force.

“Is there a tornado on the way or did someone get ahold of the siraween?!!”

I guess we’re all in the same boat…
