“A winsome little ghost it is, rosy-cheeked and bright of eye, with yellow curls all breaking loose from the small cap pushed awry, Up it climbs among the pillows, for the ‘big gark’ brings no dread,
and a baby’s busy fancy makes a kingdom of a bed.”– Louisa May Alcott

When we were little? Lady. . . I make (and hang out under) forts nearly EVERY DAY. We have a special fort-box filled with flashlights and glowsticks just for this reason – They’re still fun 😉

Ah, yeah, hidden places are more fun!! 🙂 I love that they had to giggle, that was so cute!
I remember my nephew… although I cannot hear him, I always kept him in my line of vision… or I learned to expect his next step. If he was running through kitchen and into the living room and the other end opens into the kitchen again, I knew he would come around once again. So I expected to see him zooming by one time. And he didn’t… and I didn’t realize it for a bit. I got engrossed in a soap opera and suddenly realized I was watching a soap. When I went looking, I found him… sitting on the bathroom sink… with an open case of vaseline. He had applied vaseline ALL OVER his body, head to toe. Do you know how hard it is to clean off vaseline?!

T and Ro are SOOOOO adorable under there! I like how you made it all cozy under there, adding things for them to do. It’s amazing to me how little kids’ bodies don’t get sore on a hard wood floor. The crib skirt is really a nice fort-maker. What a great post!

Just make sure you keep lit birthday candles away from the fort. When I was T’s age, I almost burned the house down when I snuck a lit birthday candle under my parents’ bed! Boy, did I catch it!

o.O Ummm. . . yeah. I don’t see either one of my kids coming close enough to even TOUCH a lit birthday candle – much less sneak it under the bed! How did you manage to pull THAT one off!!?
