Wednesday Whimsies. . .

January 15, 2010 at 8:21 pm (status report, wednesday whimsy)

“When a day that you happen to know is Wednesday starts off sounding like Sunday, there is something seriously wrong somewhere.”

– John Wyndham
2010 has brought with it quite a bit of change already! Due to a major shuffling around of small children and schedules, baby toddler N no longer stays with us during the day. This is a bit of a bittersweet change, because we’ve had N around since he was 6 weeks old (over a year and a half  ago!). We’ll miss him.  But boys will be boys, and this one is no exception to the rambunctious rule. With me entering my 3rd trimester and the doctor appointments piling up, it seemed that a bit of a break was in order – and a weekday free for running to and fro. Plus his momma is due with her new bundle a month to the day before I am, and there is just no way that I can handle two brand-new babies and 3 toddlers. To make ends meet (and just because they’re so darn cute and I love them to millions of pieces) I picked up a couple of part-time tiny ones – a pair of 6 month old girly twins belonging to close friends of ours (you can read all about their family here). And of course I still have my adorable and wonderful baby toddler A *kisses*
(did you follow all that?)

It isn’t as crazy as it sounds. This leaves me with 2 toddlers and 2 not brand-new babies – all easy-to-care-for, well-behaved, sweet little girls (I’m thinking about starting up a convent). They all come to my home later in the morning than baby N did, and NONE of them come 5 days a week. . .

Do you know what this means?

This means that I have. . .
(drumroll, please)

NO EXTRA CHILDREN ON WEDNESDAYS!!!

Don’t get me wrong. I love my day babies – every one of ’em.  But it is wonderful to have that day in the middle of the week to kick back and relax, do what needs to be done, and chill out with my own little lady all to myself.
And  I will be taking full advantage of our day together. There aren’t that many weeks left in which Puff will be my only child, and I’d really like to celebrate this special time we have left to us before our whole world changes again! Be watching out for our mid-week adventures in the months to come!

WOW!! T is going to be a terrific big sister, you can already tell by those pictures. I miss having a little baby to hold onto! My youngest niece/nephew is 3 years old now. The oldest one is going to be 30 in a few months. Of course, I could start cranking up my own baby making machine… but word on the street is, you need to have a husband to do that, so I oughta find me one of those husbands first. Hmm.

I love that little smiley face running in your post. Cute!

Yeah! What a bummer I don’t have any Wednesdays off until the end of March. I should use a day just to hang out (they’ll take all my days in May when I go on leave).

    Enjoy the Puff!

Oh that sounds wonderful! It is so great to have a day “off” and all to yourselves! I don’t know how you do it honestly! I have my 3 kids and watch an extra baby each day, and sometimes i want to pull my hair out! Can’t wait to see what adventures you and little T will have!
