WE LOVE LILLY!

A picture of Lilly the bear! (NOT my image!)
For the last week or two, T and I have been totally obsessed with Lilly the bear.
If you haven’t met Lilly yet, you really should. . .
She rocks.
Lilly is a wild 3-year old black bear who lives in Minnesota. She, along with her mother and grandmother, is part of a long-term study being conducted by the Wildlife Research Institute and the North American Bear Center. She’s been filmed and photographed since she was a tiny cub herself, and now she’s pregnant with the next generation of baby bears. She’s actually in labor right now, and will prolly give birth to her first cub(s) on Friday!
Why is this so incredibly amazingly cool?
Because she has a webcam in her den!
And she broadcasts live 24 hours a day. . .
If my darn computer wasn’t still half-busted we would prolly have her site on constantly. As it is we check in on her as often as we can. She sleeps a lot, but its so fun to watch her when she’s awake and . . . being a bear. For now the camera is only in her den, but there is a rumor that they may be installing another just outside so we can see more of Lilly (and her new babies) in action!
Go check her out if you haven’t already. I can’t wait to see the cubs!
